UNESCO listing sought for ex-Japanese POW records

KYOTO, Japan - A memoir composed by a former Japanese detainee at a Soviet-era labor camp in Siberia after World War II is photographed at the Maizuru Repatriation Memorial Museum in Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture, on March 4, 2014. It is among 570 items the city applied the same day for entry into UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.
